We met working on a crazy indie film that was shooting in Northern California in the summer of 2013. Technically-- we met on the 18-hour drive there and back a few weekends before when we went up for the location scout. Everyone else in the car fell asleep on the way home, so Brittany sat up front to keep Xylon awake while he drove at night. We got to know each other, and became instant friends. When the job started and we were living on site, there was no cell service, TV, or internet to entertain or distract the crew. Eventually, Xylon won Brittany over by pulling out all the stops-- he would magically appear with wine, chocolate, home-cooked gourmet meals, and campfires under the stars! He still continues these tricks to this day.... ;)

We're obsessed with National Parks, and have a lifetime goal to visit every U.S. park. For Xylon's 35th birthday, we took a trip up to Washington State to hike Olympic National Park. After a 4-mile uphill hike, we ended up at a gorgeous crystal-clear teal blue mountain top lake, where there wasn't another human in sight for miles. That's when Xylon hid the diamond ring inside a geode rock, and after a few failed attempts (I chose eating a sandwich over getting up to be surprised), Xylon set up his proposal another way. Ironically, at that instant, another random hiker appeared out of the woods to "ruin" our moment. Xylon got clever and asked him to take a photo of us, then secretly switched it to video mode. As we were posing for the photo, that's when he got down on one knee at the edge of the rock and popped the question! Thanks to this random hiker dude (his name is Eric!) we have a video of the whole event <3
