What started out as a simple swipe turned into a happily ever after. We met on Facebook dating. We almost didn’t meet, because his profile stated that he smoked occasionally. Upon further investigation, I found out that it was cigars-not cigarettes. We took a chance and met in person that following weekend. We’ve been inseparable ever since!
Yazonta proposed at an anniversary party hosted by my cousins. I had no idea what was happening! The party was called “The Boyd Soirée”. We celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary, and unbeknownst to me-our proposal. There was a segment in the party where all couples played a game. The concept of the game was for one last couple to be standing. That couple would win a prize. The first question “if you’ve been together longer than three years, keep standing”. The next question was “if you’ve been to Las Vegas or DC this year, keep standing”. That left us, and one other couple. The last question “if you’ve been to an NBA or WNBA game this year, keep standing.” That made us the last couple standing. I thought we’d won a gift card or something along those lines. I still didn’t get it! After people began cheering for the winners, Yazonta got down on one knee and proposed. It was one of the happiest moments of my life!
