Oxford is the place our story began. We met in early October 2019 at an orientation event in our college, Teddy Hall. It was Will's first day in the city. We talked all evening and had our first date a week later. Our second date -- dinner at Pierre Victoire's -- came two days after that. We spent little time apart from each other in the following two years. Our memories of that time, of getting to know each other and building our relationship, are intimately connected to this city. We couldn't think of a better place to take this next step in our relationship, and we are excited to share this special place with our loved ones.
Guests will enter the Convocation House through the Chancellor's Court, which is located behind and between the Sheldonian Theatre and History of Science Museum, opposite Blackwell's Bookstore. You can find the exact location here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZfNvXZe6ASgEHmXdA
Good question! We encourage guests to wear semi-formal attire — long or cocktail-length dresses, jumpsuits, and suits in spring colors and florals to celebrate the beauty of Oxford in spring. Hats and fascinators are welcome (but not required)! We suggest thicker heels to navigate the cobblestone streets of Oxford and the grassy garden of The Perch.
The Perch is known for their excellent, seasonal food. We greatly enjoyed selecting the options for our celebratory feast! For the wedding lunch, guests will be able to choose from a selection of shared starters and mains, including vegetarian and vegan options. Please communicate dietary restrictions and allergies as you RSVP.
Dinner will not be served at the reception, but we will have plenty of food at lunch as well as cake and drinks during the afternoon! We recommend guests make their own bookings for dinner either at The Perch or elsewhere in Oxford/Binsey. We have included some of our favorite restaurants in our Guide to Oxford found on the "Things to Do" page of our website.
The beautiful photos on the front page of our website and our save-the-dates were taken by Brittany's family friend/adopted "uncle" and fantastic photographer Richard Kelly. We are lucky that he will also be photographing the wedding—a full circle moment since a 3-year-old Brittany was the flower girl in Richard's wedding 25 years ago!
If you know Will, you know he always has a book in his hand. He is currently enjoying the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald and Marcel Proust.
