Sam Houston Memorial Museum
Just off U.S. 75 (Sam Houston Avenue) in a 15-acre setting are Sam Houston's home, "Woodland," the steamboat house where he died in 1863, his law office, a pioneer kitchen, a blacksmith shop and other buildings. The museum itself houses one of the most extensive collection of Sam Sam Houston in Texas."
Huntsville State Park
Located just off I-45 in the Piney Woods of East Texas, we often visit Huntsville State Park to go hiking, swimming or just grab a bite to eat before heading on down to Houston!
Fernland Historical Park
About: Fernland Historical Park is one of four City parks in Montgomery, Tx, displaying wonderful examples of early Texas frontier architecture. Mission: Fernland Historical Park's mission is to display & preserve early examples of homes and log cabins built in the pre- and post-civil war eras. Fernland Historical Park includes a museum and educational center that enhances the quality of life for City residents and offers educational opportunities for the public. General Information: Park Hours with Docent on duty: Closed on Mondays. 9am - 3pm Tuesday - Saturday. 12pm - 4pm Sunday. Please note: we close for any inclement weather.
Old Town Spring

The Waterway runs through the Woodlands Town Center, and features shops, restaurants, and rent-able pedal boats and kayaks. The east end terminates adjacent to The Woodlands Mall, north Houston's premier shopping destination.
