Stansted, Gatwick or Heathrow

We really appreciate that our guests are traveling to celebrate our special day, and one thing we know is that it's not cheap! As you know, Ty and I have been traveling on a budget for a few years now, so we've picked up a few hacks along the way. One of those hacks is Skyscanner. It compares prices from all the airlines and gives you options with layovers which cuts costs so much! As for flying into England, the closest airport to the venue (in Essex) is Stansted, which is about a 45 minute train trip. Otherwise, Gatwick or Heathrow are also good options that are roughly 1.5 hrs from the venue via train.

Hotel

Best Western The Rose & Crown Hotel

While the garden where the celebrations will take place is located in Colchester, we recommend staying in the closest nearby city of Chelmsford, especially if you're planning on staying and traveling around England for a few days. Chelmsford is a charming city with plenty of shopping, pubs, and direct links to London and Brighton. However, it is about a 20 minute drive from the actual wedding venue. There will be future communication regarding transportation to and from the venue when we know where everyone will be staying. Above is the hotel that the bride's family will be staying at through the wedding weekend, it is about 5-10 minutes from the venue. There is always the option to stay there through the wedding weekend, then find further accommodation wherever you'd like for the rest of your trip.
