We met when Sam was visiting family in Dallas, went on two dates and then - for some crazy reason - decided to try our hand at a long-distance relationship. Brittany moved from Dallas, to Connecticut, and then to Georgia all while Sam was still in the Air Force in Florida. Living apart was not easy, but we found ways to spend time together and talked about the summer of 2018 as our light at the end of the tunnel. We had decided by then we would move to the same place together, and that kept us going when long distance sucked (so, basically all the time!) Little did Brittany know we would start that summer off with Sam proposing! We moved to Dallas that summer and the rest is history!

Sam deployed to Germany in January 2018 and we had talked about doing a big trip around Europe when he finished. Brittany flew out to meet Sam in May and after visiting Germany and Switzerland, we made it to Cinque Terre, Italy. We went out on a beautiful hike one morning and eventually climbed over a fence to set up our tripod for a very Instagram-worthy picture. Little did Brittany know, Sam had already scoped out this picture spot and had a plan. Sam arranged the tripod and set the phone to take a video instead of a picture while Brittany stood out on the cliff. He put on his rain jacket to hide the ring box, even though it was sweltering hot. He got down on one knee on a cliff in one of the most romantic places in the world and caught it all on video so that we could share the moment with our families. Soooo now Brittany gets to spend the rest of her life trying to top the surprise he pulled off ... yikes! :)
