Our Story

It was 2013 and I was a senior in high school on my official basketball visit at Arkansas State. Our agenda that day was touring campus, eating at the best restaurant in Jonesboro, and going to an ASU spring football game. When we got to the game, we took our seats and I did what every 18 year old girl would do when going to a college football game. Getting the brochure and looking at all of the cute guys, of course. I was sitting by my best friend, Hanna Qedan, and asked her, "Who is this guy?". He was a stud. Making plays, leading his team, had a cannon, and was pretty easy on the eyes. I asked Hanna about this mystery quarterback and she only had good things to say. You could say a crush was formed. Fast forward four years, and I am moving to Little Rock to start my first year of pharmacy school at UAMS. Hanna lived in Little Rock at the time, and was introducing me to all of her friends. One of the guys in the friend group was none other than Phillip. When we met, we immediately hit it off. He was funny, charming, and someone I just clicked with. We began to hang out only in a group setting for awhile and then one day, Phillip asked to hang out - just him and I. We went on a walk with his parents dog, Star, at Twins Rivers Park and got ice cream afterwards. I just had a feeling that this was different and saw a future with him. We were dating for awhile very seriously and then everything changed on June 23, 2018. Phillip spent months planning the best way to ask me. He spoke to my family and close friends about coming that weekend. All the girls went to brunch, went shopping, and got our nails done. I thought we were going to dinner together but we took a turn that seemed a little familiar. We went to the place we first hung out at, Twin Rivers Bridge, and he was there under the bridge with all of my family and friends around. Our favorite song was playing with roses laying out a pathway. He got down on one knee and asked me for the rest of our lives.
