Who knew that on this day, our first day at a new job, we both would meet someone we could call a friend for years to come. Shortly after starting work we began to carpool and learned a lot about one another on our 1 hour commutes. We had known each other for only a few months and it felt like we had known each other for years.
We quickly became best friends and could talk to each other about literally ANYTHING, if you can imagine it we talked about it. I would tell him how I wasn't looking for anyone but I would like for a good guy with those old country values to find me at some point in the future. At the time I had no idea that what started out as a close friendship would turn into the love of a lifetime!
It didn't take long to realize that this was becoming something more than a friendship. We had quickly fallen for each other in the midst of the carpooling and late night talks. Making it official was a no brainer.
After a year of commutes between Greensboro and Raleigh, we decided to call Raleigh OUR new home. We spent two years on the edge of Knightdale growing together and getting to know the city and all the amazing things life had to offer.
On June 1, 2020, we were blessed to sign the contract to build our new home in Garner. Everything from the exterior design and color of the house to the interior floor, cabinet and countertops, we were able to design to specifically fit our needs and desires. These 5 months were both stressful and some of the best months for us. Building our first home together, our dream home, made us grow stronger and closer than we already were.
A "Welcome to Date Night" sign was on the back of the closed mudroom door. Another one of our weekly date nights has arrived, but this time a bouquet of roses had been left on the island with a note to go upstairs to get dressed. Rose petals lined the bedroom floor through to the bathroom where the hot bubble bath rested and music played through the speakers. A dress lay on the bed after the bath as dinner waited downstairs. Steak, macaroni and cheese and broccoli. We talked and laughed and you can guess the rest.
Our wedding day is more than just a random date for us to get married, it's the exact month and day that we began our relationship journey 5 years ago. We are excited to be able to celebrate this milestone with our family and friends!
