Brittany and Kylen met during the summer of 2020 thanks to the dating app Tinder. Since it was early in the pandemic, their first date was a picnic at Greenlake. She brought the wine and he brought a charcuterie from one of his favorite restaurants/butcher, The Shambles. From the moment she saw the meat and cheese spread, she knew he had potential. So much so that Brittany texted Kylen the very next morning. From there, the dating continued: dinner at Cornuto, pickling at Kylen’s apartment, hiking Little Si, blueberry and lavender picking in Seqium. In August of 2021 they moved in together in the Greenwood neighborhood. Shortly after, they started looking at dogs for adoption and in February of 2022 they took on Theo. To say Theo was "a lot" was an understatement. Thankfully after much training (shout out to Ahimsa Dog Training), life with Theo became a joy rather than a stressor. For Christmas 2022, Brittany and Kylen organized a holiday trip on Whidbey Island where both families could meet. Mother Nature had other plans with the freezing rain, which cut the weekend short by a day and unfortunately Brittany's brother, Brandon, could not get a flight out from Phoenix. But all in all, the weekend was a success. And on New Years Eve 2022, after enjoying a delicious dinner at The Shambles, Kylen ended the meal by asking Brittany to marry him.
