MacKenzie Center is a beautiful spot to see some wildlife and take a nice hike! We took our engagement photos here - it is a gorgeous spot.
Olbrich Botanical Gardens
Beautiful curated gardens, with outdoor and indoor options. If you visit, you can find a plaque on the Tribute Trellis that was gifted to me for my birthday by Annie and Alex, members of our wedding party!
Tenney Park
Our favorite park on the lake! There's a beach, lots of trails to walk, and many benches to sit on and enjoy the view of the water. Joey proposed here, and we took some engagement photos here as well.
Chazen Museum of Art
What's better than a free art museum? If you have time to visit downtown Madison, the Chazen is right on campus, minutes away from State Street! There are some interesting pieces of art to gander at here.
University of Wisconsin–Madison Arboretum
This is a favorite hiking spot of ours! There are so many cool trails, you can make your walk as long or as short as you want it to be. Around this time of year there will be all kinds of beautiful fall colors in the trees or on the ground for you to crunch around in!
Henry Vilas Zoo
A free zoo?! How can someone say no to that. So many cute animals here - porcupines, red pandas, capybaras, otters. Lots of fun! If you go, don't forget to stop by the children's zoo - that's where the red pandas are!
