Hunting Island State Park Beach
This is the closest beach if you are staying in the Beaufort area. It is very natural and secluded so pack your own cooler. There is also a lighthouse here that you can go up that was built, destroyed in the Civil War, and rebuilt all in the 1800's! The Beach access here does cost, or you could drive to Hilton Head beaches if you want free.
Beaufort History Tours
Beaufort is FULL of history! It's one of the things we love about living in this area. We highly recommend taking a tour if you have the time! From the Civil War history, the Gullah culture, to Forrest Gump filming here, you won't be disappointed!
Beautiful Downtown Beaufort
Stroll down historic Bay Street and visit the local shops and restaurants. Also downtown is the beautiful waterfront park and marina. Sit on the swing chairs and relax overlooking the water.
