We met through a dating website. Brittany came across Jake's profile and was drawn to his kind smile and all around genuine look. Brittany went out on a limb and sent Jake a message. They began talking and after a little while exchanged numbers. They planned a dinner at Deano's Italian Grill. Finally after a couple failed attempts, because of kids' schedules, they met for their first date! They were both so nervous! Brittany remembers Jake's quick "no" to answering the server's question about ordering an appetizer. Haha Brittany was thinking ok mister what if I do want some of their delicious calamari?! The night was such a success after we started talking and the nerves died down. A few weeks later Jake invited Brittany to his house for their second date! They went for Mexican at a local restaurant, and then came back for a movie. It was that night when they had their first kiss that Brittany really knew this could be her forever person. She had a deep down feeling that this was something very special! Jake and Brittany began seeing each other in September of 2018 and Jake finally asked her to be his girlfriend on Valentine's Day of 2019. Jake sent flowers to her work with a sweet card that asked "will you be mine?" By then Brittany knew she was head over heels and the answer was easy! Jake took Brittany to the Biltmore Estate for their 1 year dating anniversary! They had such a wonderful time despite Brittany getting food poisoning from chicken salad. Things progressed smoothly and over time it only made sense to move in together. They made the jump in May of 2020. Brittany and Jake were so ready for their families to do everyday together and not just the weekends! Jake surprised Brittany with an early 2nd anniversary trip to Callaway Gardens in Jan. 2021. That is where Jake popped the big question! They began the trip with obstacle courses and ziplines over the lake, went to a winery and then ended the night listening to live music.
