what should I wear?
Answer
The dress code is cocktail/garden party attire. Wear cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, and dark jackets and slacks. Obviously no white for the ladies! Please keep in mind the ceremony will be outdoors in early October, dress accordingly for the weather. The ceremony will take place on a grassy lawn, please choose suitable, comfortable footwear (avoid stilettos and stilts). Dancing will be in a tent outside on a paved concrete floor.

Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Elizabeth F Cheney Mansion at 220 N Euclid Ave in Oak Park, IL.

Please see our "Travel" tab for recommendations. There are many options near O'hare Airport, which would give you convenient access to the Blue Line public train line, giving you easy transit options to both the wedding location as well as the option of commuting into downtown Chicago for those that want to be close to the hustle and bustle! If you are looking for an Airbnb or another rental, we recommend looking in the Oak Park/River Forest/Forest Park/Elmwood Park areas.

what is the best way for me to get to the wedding venue?

If you plan to stay in the Oak Park/River Forest area, we recommend two options: taking the CTA Green Line train to the Oak Park station, which lets out about a 10-11 minute walk from the venue at the Cheney Mansion, or taking a car/taxi to the venue entrance at N Euclid Avenue. If you take public transportation to the wedding venue, we recommend getting an Uber/Lyft at the end of the night!

is there parking at the wedding venue?
Answer
There will be a limited amount of street parking available on North Euclid Avenue and Erie Street along the perimeter of the venue. Street parking is also available on nearby residential streets but we recommend checking street parking signs before leaving your car for the evening.
