What's with the verse?

"and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma." - Ephesians 5:2

Ephesians 5 is a chapter all about love. There's a lot we could say about love, but the bottom line is if you love someone, you'll do what's best for them. Even if what's best for them isn't what makes you happy. And you find out—almost paradoxically—that it makes you happy anyway. Because that's how much you love them. In Ephesians 5, we learn that God did exactly that for us. He gave his own life so that we could be with Him forever—and it was his joy to do so. And we love Him back by submitting our lives to Him. As we grow to love Him more, it becomes our joy as well. Turns out, it's a lot like marriage (or so our mentors tell us!). And that's why we hope our wedding, and the love God has given us for each other, will remind you of the amazing love God has for you.
