Marquas! My Nephew! I find some sort of inspiration in all of my friends, but surprisingly I find the most inspiration in my nephew. Resilient , Leader, Overcomer are just a few words I can use to describe him. Not being in the same state as him while he was younger caused me to watch a lot of his growing up from a distance, but the love I have for him and his life progression has no distance. I hope I’ve become a good example for him, but really he’s a great example for me… & that’s regardless of life challenges, we OVERCOME! It’s a honor to have such a courageous young man stand beside me on my special day. It’s even more of a honor to be able to call that young man my nephew.

Our friendship in high school grew really close, but since he was always taking advanced honor classes we never shared the same schedule. Until my senior year when I finally tried out honor classes. That was a great year filled with great memories. We were like two peas in a pod. Though we separated in college as we chose different schools our friendship stayed intact. In ways, Allante’ reminds me of myself with how certain topics he becomes really passionate about but he’s also is a great listener. We’ve always shared that bond and forever will.

Even now, he’s such a great friend because he’s the type of person who will encourage you and let you know how great of a person you are regardless of how you may be feeling currently.
