New York City's West Village was empty and eerie on May 29th, 2020– as the pandemic kept everyone six feet apart and inside. But in the midst of all the uncertainty, two people were trying to reclaim a small slice of normal life. Brittany and Eduardo had spent weeks chatting on Hinge, bonding over their shared love of travel, adventure, and cheese. The spring sun shone brightly on the day they finally decided to meet up in person. Eduardo wore a deep blue polo shirt with a white n-95 mask strapped to his face. Brittany was wearing a black flowered top with a matching cloth mask—a cute "date" option she had changed into after wearing a safer mask on the subway. They found each other easily on the vacant sidewalk and ordered takeout from Murray's Mac and Cheese, a Bleeker street staple. Questions swirled: Can we take off our masks? How close should we sit? Can we touch? No, probably not. It made for a slightly awkward but very wholesome afternoon. As the pandemic weakened, Britt and Ed's relationship grew stronger. Four years later, Ed —with help from Britt's horse, Ruben—asked the big question sporting traditional Mexican Mariachi attire. That perfect day captured all the values they hold dear. Now, it’s time to witness these two officially embark on their future together!
