Friday, June 27, 2025. We started getting to know each other on the phone. Allowing ourselves to be our most raw and vulnerable selves, we both knew what we were looking for in a partner & we didn’t hold back on sharing that with one another. Dustin asked me to go on a date and the only time that worked for the both of us was a random Tuesday at 5:30. After we met and hugged, there was instant chemistry. No awkward pauses, no searching for things to talk about.. it was just easy! We spent the next few days texting and pulling a few all nighters talking on the phone. Bonding over the same values, morals, experiences and loss really kept leading us back to one another. Dustin told me after our second date that he was driving home and told himself “I’m gonna marry that girl one day!” And I was just laughed it off.. “ok, whatever..” it was way too early for him to know the crazy he would have to deal with for the rest of his life! He was patient with me and was such a gentleman. Everything further went at my pace. I was so scared and nervous to allow myself to feel so deeply for him. About a week later, I remember looking at him and having the thought “is my search over? Is this my future?”. I have literally never had those feelings or thoughts before. It literally only took us 2 weeks and we were talking marriage. After 11 weeks and 2 days, Dustin took me to a very special spot and got down on one knee. We both kind of blacked out, but I know he asked me to marry him and I kept saying “yes” just to make sure I said it! We are so blessed to have been guided to one another and so thankful to share the rest of our lives together.
