Two hearts often are drawn together but aren’t ready for each other. That is the story of our two hearts drawn together at a young age and separated by time to grow stronger and fonder of each other. Drawn back together in 2015 due to the most unexpected encounter began the start of our road to happily ever after. After months of hanging out and an internship that put us on opposite ends of the country, I finally got the courage to leap, and so began the official relationship. May 13, 2017, the day she said yes. The day we both took an individual step to our future plus decided to embark on this eternal journey together. I am very unconventional so the traditional proposal just wouldn’t do. I had the decorative board in her favorite color with pictures of all our happy adventures, and in big letters across the board the words read “Will You Marry Me?”. I hid the board in her car while we enjoyed our joint graduation party, all I had to do was convince her to go to the car in the middle of the event just to find the board and with it, a pink rose and the engagement ring I picked out. With tears in her eyes, a smile on her face, and me on one knee the magic word she chose to say was “YES,” and we were engaged. I think it is funny now, how I look back and see how two people with different approaches arrived at the same place, but that’s what is going to make our marriage a successful one. Two people with different approaches who’ve arrived at the same place and with many blessings it will be forever! As they said in her favorite show they start out as friends then they end up as husbands! We are so excited about the start of this new adventure!
