Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Upscale Island Attire: For women, this could mean a fun, knee-length or midi dress in a bright color or playful print, or a stylish pantsuit. Men can opt for dress pants with a colorful button-down light weight shirt finished off with a pair of dress shoes or loafers. The couple is going for a tropical festive feel for this dinner party, so bright colors, Guayaberas (Cuban dress shirt) and Fedora hats are encouraged! 🌺🥥🌴🦜☀️

What time should I arrive at The River House?

Answer

If you are a “Guest of Honor”, you will need to be at the River House no later than 3pm. All of our other special guests are asked to be at the River House no later than 4pm. Cocktail hour will strictly last only 1 hour. During this time you will have the opportunity to take a picture with the couple when you arrive to the terrace, discover your table assignment, mingle with friends and snap some selfies, sip some delicious beverages, and witness the couple’s short hand fasting ceremony that will take place during the last 15 minutes of cocktail hour. Whew! That’s a LOT to do in one little hour! Then we will make our way to the ballroom where guests will find their tables and seats. Don’t worry, if you don’t get your picture taken with the couple during cocktail hour, there will be plenty of time later to capture some beautiful moments!

Will there be shuttles to and from The River House or will I be able to park my car on site?

Answer

Yes and yes! If you are staying at the DoubleTree Hotel and prefer not to drive, the hotel provides a shuttle service for $5 per person. We recommend coordinating with the front desk when you check in to see if anyone else from the Hammond Wedding room block has booked a shuttle service on the 29th in order to carpool and keep trips as efficient as possible. If you are not staying at the DoubleTree Hotel or simply prefer not to take a shuttle, don’t worry! There’s PLENTY of free on site parking! After the wedding is over at 9pm, the Old Town Trolley will pick up the couple and any guests that would like to continue the party in the downtown historic district! The shuttle can comfortably fit up to 76 people at a time. Additional trips will be available if seats run out on the first trolley. If you prefer to call it a night after dinner, the trolley will also be able to take you back to the DoubleTree or any of the other major hotels in the downtown area (please note this does not include the beaches). Just stay in your seat when everyone else departs for the bars and your trolley driver will get you back to your hotel safely! Anyone who leaves their vehicle behind at the River House overnight can pick it up in the morning, but please be sure to do so promptly (no later than 10am) as there is another wedding booked at the venue the following day.

Is there going to be an open or cash bar?

Answer

The bar will be open including the Bourbon Cigar Bar after dinner. However, the bartenders would greatly appreciate a tip if you enjoy their service, so be sure to grab a little cash before you arrive as the River House does not have an on site ATM. Alternatively, if you aren’t able to bring cash, they accept Venmo as well!

Do you have a registry?

Answer

The couple does not have a registry because the only gift they need is your presence at their wedding! However, on the next tab over, you will find a couple of cash funds that are there to please those guests that find the couple’s request for no gifts completely unacceptable.
