Monticello, located on Thomas Jefferson Parkway just outside of Charlottesville, was the home of Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Consisting of 5,000 acres, the plantation was used to grow tobacco and other crops. Jefferson designed the house, which sits on an 850-foot (260 meter) hill: Monticello means “little mountain” in Italian.
A fun place to hang if the weather is beautiful. They have a large lawn/courtyard space with comfy seating areas and an outdoor fireplace. The food is yummy and there are beautiful views of the mountains!
