Wedding Party

Meet our closest friends and family who will be walking down the aisle with us!

Heidi Alexander

Co-Maid of Honor

Johnson City, TN "Brittany and I grew up 26 months apart and have been looking forward to this day since we were little girls! She is the greatest sister, role model, and best friend all wrapped into one. When I first heard that she had met a guy who loved running and hiking just as much as her, I knew it was the perfect match. Daniel has become a part of our family over the past few years, and I could not be happier for the two of them. I can’t wait to stand beside her on her big day as she gets to marry the love of her life!!" If you talk to Heidi at the wedding, conversation topics may include: cooking; hot yoga; medical school; and binge watching Greys Anatomy

Matthew Wong

Co-Best Man

Aurora, CO "I've known Daniel since before we were born. We've spent most of our lives together growing up and wreaking havoc on the world. We don't look alike, but some say we're like twins." If you talk to Matthew at the wedding, conversation topics may include: Cooking. Anything food. I'm the resident chef.

Sarah Sokolowski

Co-Maid of Honor

Denver, CO "Brittany is the best friend I could ever ask for. Little did I know when we met in middle school that she would become my lifelong best friend, closest confidante, music soulmate, travel buddy, and the person who makes me laugh the hardest. Although it has been years since we've lived in the same state, we have grown even closer and I am so honored to stand by her side as she marries Daniel." If you talk to Sarah at the wedding, conversation topics may include: breakfast foods; comedy shows; exploring National Parks; the love of her life, Winston (doggo); and the best/worst Brittlebot stories

Riley Wattier

Co-Best Man/Officiant

Portland, OR "I met Daniel in 2013(?). We were the crazy two who stayed in town all summer to train in the heat. Our summers consisted of 5am runs, lots of naps, watching Frozen too many times, 8pm bed times, and praying that the frozen tamales in the freezer would never run out. We had LOTS of friends." If you talk to Riley at the wedding, a topic of conversation might include: telling him your favorite Halloween story or show me your best costume.

Emily Batiste

Bridesmaid

Nashville, TN “Brittany and her family moved into a house down the street from mine when I was in 7th grade. Her sister was the same age as my sister and the rest is history! From dance parties to writing, directing, and filming our own feature films, we were basically inseparable. In high school she convinced me to run cross country with her and we ran for 3 seasons together. Although we have lived 400+ miles apart for the last 8 years, Brittany has constantly been a supportive, and loyal friend, and I am so incredibly happy for her and Daniel!” If you talk to Emily at the wedding, conversation topics may include: Kings of Leon; all sports (but especially the Vols); her squirrel Ringo; pizza; the beach

Ryan Herson

Groomsman

Seattle, WA "I met Daniel at the first freshman cross country meeting at Arizona State. We went on to be the only two from that class to stay for 5 years and end up being roommates for a couple years. Daniel and I developed a strong connection through running, board games and pure competition. When Brittany joined the team in our last year, I was super excited when Brittany and Daniel hit it off. Two genuine great people and I can’t wait to celebrate them!" If you talk to Ryan at the wedding, conversation topics may include: his dog Finley, all sports, reality tv shows, beer, and outdoor activities.

LauraLee Madigan

It wasn't long after that she became my official little sis and one of my best friends. We've "grown up" a lot since then, but I've always been able to be completely myself around Brittany. I'm so grateful for our friendship, and I'm so excited for Brittany & Daniel's wedding and for more fun times with them in Arizona & Tennessee!" If you talk to LauraLee at the wedding, conversation topics may include: yoga; rock climbing; and her big puppy!

Tucker Alexander

Some of my favorite memories are of driving countless hours to her track meets to get to see her run. Once I first heard about Daniel a few years ago, I knew they'd be a great because they both are just slightly motivated people. All joking aside, I'm excited to welcome Daniel into our family." If you talk to Tucker at the wedding, conversation topics may include: Boston sports teams, Bible College, theology, coffee, and any outdoor activities(disc golf, hiking, kayaking, etc.)

Megha Fernandes

Bridesmaid

Washington, D.C. "I met Brittany at the veggie station line at The Rat (our school's dining hall) the first week at Rhodes, and immediately I knew I wanted to be her friend. The next week, I got one better--we were in the same pledge class in Chi Omega!! I've watched Brittany grow and continue to become the most amazing person, and during the last year, our friendship has grown even deeper through hours-long FaceTimes talking about everything from what we're eating for dinner to pressing issues in the world and how we can help solve them. Brittany is amazing, and my favorite part of our friendship is telling her stories that make her laugh! If you talk to Megha at the wedding, conversation topics may include: podcasts; concerts; brunch; and pop culture

Daniel welcomed me with open arms and I'm very grateful to be able to call him a brother today! Also...The second occasion spending time with Daniel was in Tucson. We returned to the house to find a bloody Daniel being treated after a bike accident. It was then that I realized that "accident prone Daniel'' was no myth. [we laugh because we love ;) ]" If you talk to Shane at the wedding, conversation topics may include: traveling and taking on new adventures with family and friends; sports; cars; and cigars.

Annabelle Atkin

If you talk to Annabelle at the wedding, conversation topics may include: traveling Asia; her two cats; and fun things to do in AZ

Josh Walker

Groomsman

Tempe, AZ "Daniel and I met as teammates at ASU. He's a great guy to run with as he brings so much energy from the very start (though it fades and turns into the opposite half way through). We've formed a strong bond through our love of games, travel, and Disney over the years. I enjoy how easy it is to get along him and his positivity. A friend I can always count on! Unless it's waking up early to run before it gets too hot."

Jayley Janssen

Bridesmaid

Phoenix, AZ "Brittany and I met in our doctoral program and immediately bonded over our commitment to educational equity and our love of hiking. We have hiked all over the valley, to Mooney Falls at Havasupai (where I discovered her fear of squirrels), and my most favorite, “hiked” every square inch of Washington DC in the short span of 24 hours." If you talk to Jayley at the wedding, conversation topics may include: hiking; visiting National Parks; her pup, Jerry; and picking up random hobbies to avoid her dissertation (carpentry, knitting, embroidery)

Garrett Baker

Groomsman

Phoenix, AZ "During my freshman year I helped host Daniel on his recruiting trip at ASU since we both ran steeplechase on the track. Luckily we convinced him to become a Sun Devil, and the rest is history. Running thousand of miles, traveling the country for races, and going through our college life together lead to an awesome friendship and bond that’s hard to break. We just moved back to Phoenix and are having a blast getting to spend lots of time again with Daniel and Brittany!" If you talk to Garrett at the wedding conversation topics may include: any embarrassing Daniel story; how cute his Goldendoodle, Lake, is; and any pointers on how to not be so bad at golf

Diana Jenkins

Bridesmaid

Phoenix, AZ "My first memory of meeting Brittany was at orientation for our PhD program in August 2018. She had such a bright, positive energy around her and when I found out my desk would be right next to her desk, I was so excited! What started out as me (annoyingly) turning my head to ask her several questions on a daily basis bloomed into a beautiful friendship three years later that I am so grateful for." If you talk to Diana at the wedding, conversation topics may include: movies (especially comedies); traveling; checking out new breweries; and literally all food!
