We’re getting married!

Brittany and Daniel both attended the University of Central Florida (UCF) at the same time and had the same major - Mechanical Engineering, but funnily enough, their paths never crossed. They were actually at the same birthday party TWICE, but never met in person. However, that was not enough to stop the inevitable. A few years after college, they were both swiping through good old reliable (dating app) - Hinge, when they took the chance and swiped right on each other. Their first date was on the Fourth of July. They went to get dinner at Hawkers and then got ice cream at Kelly's. The date went by too fast, so they also went to Lake Baldwin to watch the fireworks. Sparks flew (literally)! And the rest was history :)

Growing up in Florida for all of their lives - except for when Daniel lived in Cincinnati, OH until he was five - Brittany desired to venture out. It had been Brittany's dream to live somewhere new ever since she graduated college. Daniel would have been content to stay in Florida. At the beginning of their relationship, Brittany almost moved to Oklahoma City, OK because of a job offer she received. Good thing she didn’t take it because then this story would’ve turned out way different :). Instead she decided to stay in Florida and her and Daniel's relationship blossomed. They met each other's family and eventually moved in together to Brittany's house. Everything was going great, but deep down Brittany still wanted to experience living somewhere new. Daniel knew this and accepted it wholeheartedly. So Brittany and Daniel began a series of mini trips to different states to decide where they wanted to live next. They visited North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Colorado, etc. And then one day, Brittany received another job offer, but this time in Washington state. Brittany and Daniel had never been to Seattle at that point. So Brittany took a trip with her mom to scope it out. The results were overwhelmingly positive. And so they began their move to the Emerald City. They went on to create life in Washington; this strengthened their relationship and they built something completely new together. Daniel pivoted into Software, fulfilling one of his major goals. They made new friends, and started to camp and hike! :)

It was hard for Daniel to plan a proposal without Brittany suspecting it. Daniel enlisted their friend and Brittany's coworker (Kaan) to be their proposal photographer. Daniel planned a hike to Brittany's favorite mountain - Mount Rainier. It was a warm, sunny day in September. They all hiked to the top of Borough 1 and then to the top of Borough 2. Brittany was tired so she lied down on a nice rock lol. Daniel patiently waited for her to get up as Kaan got into position for the perfect shot. Daniel held onto the ring tightly so it wouldn't drop off the edge of the mountain. Daniel asked Brittany to stand up and slowly got down on one knee. Daniel had a nice speech prepared and asked Brittany to marry him. Brittany was overwhelmed with joy and said "YES!" without a second thought. To Kaan's surprise, Brittany and Daniel had been ring shopping a few months prior. You can't keep secrets from your partner ;)
