We initially met at Salem's finest watering hole (Magoos) during Brittany's second year of law school, when we were partnered to play shuffle board. It’s one of our favorite nights and one of our favorite stories to tell. It wasn't love at first sight, but it was a night we will always remember, and always laugh about. On this night, we exchanged banter, and got to know one another better. Brittany asked Collin what his "deal was" to which he responded "everyone says I'm a nice guy." Brittany rolled her eyes and asked "how has that worked out with the ladies?" Collin laughed and admitted it had not been working out too well thus far. Little did we know that night was the start of something big. It was the start of a great friendship, filled with lots of laughter and adventure, that spanned over the next several years. Once we actually took the leap, it was the start of something that we knew would last a lifetime. Years later we still look back at the night that we met and acknowledge that Collin's "niceness" would work out quite well for us both.
Sitting in the Barge Tavern in Newport, Oregon, deep in conversation and sharing whiskey, we decided to make frequenting dive-bars together a forever thing. We knew the next step in our lives together was to get married. Heck, we already shared a dog, a house, an on-going football rivalry, why not share a tax credit, too?? Many of our closest family and friends know, but we booked a wedding venue and announced our intentions long before we made an "official announcement" to everyone through an engagement. We did eventually get engaged (what a surprise) at none other than the place where we first met, right next to the shuffle board table. Talk about romantic... right?!
We decided to get married on a date that was important to us... our dating anniversary. Only having to remember one anniversary date forever, isn't that a dream?! We think it is! Of course, we aren't entirely sure that July 7th is actually our dating anniversary, but it's our self-proclaimed anniversary date. Plus, seven is Brittany's lucky number (her Grandpa's soccer number), so it all adds up either way. We are so excited for you to celebrate our big day with us! We can't wait to see you! Well, mostly we just can't wait to see you all dance.
