It started at a "classy' lounge right on the water in Pacific Beach, CA called Shore Club. Charlie went out for the night with his roommate and Brittany met up with a friend after her shift. Obviously, Brittany was having the time of her life hanging off to the side managing her fantasy football team. Her friend noticed and commented on the fact that another gentleman was a Bronco fan. Brittany thought, "I'm a Bronco fan, I know we are everywhere, I just hadn't met one in San Diego." Brittany: "I heard you were a Bronco fan, so am I." Charlie: "Well, I'm from Denver." Brittany:"I'm from Denver too, where in Denver?" Charlie: "Denver, Denver." Brittany: *Crickets* Charlie: "Where in Denver are you from?" Brittany: "Lakewood." Charlie: "That's not Denver." Brittany proceeded to continue managing her fantasy football team. Charlie took noticed and showed her his phone. He was also managing his fantasy football team prior to Brittany coming up to him. They noticed they had drafted a lot of the same players and emerged themselves into football conversation. Charlie went on to inform Brittany that he graduated from the University of Colorado and was a huge Buffaloes fan. She explained she also graduated from CU, loved the Buffs and had cheered for them. She then explained her passion for animals and at that time she worked with penguins. Charlie was excited to inform her that his favorite animal was a penguin. He then showed her a picture of his dog, his pride and joy, he received from his sister. Brittany was excited to tell him she also got her dog/polar bear from her sister. They found out that they both came from large families and have a special love for baseball. Charlie then invited Brittany over the next day to watch the Bronco game, and she accepted the invitation.
Brittany and her roommate invited Charlie and his roommate over to carve pumpkins for Halloween. He was proud that he also brought a festive beer, Pumpkin Down by Ballast Point. It was a great night with snacks and the movie Sleepy Hollow. Afterwards, Brittany walked the guys down to their car and as she went in for a hug goodbye, Charlie went in for a kiss. Brittany couldn't remember the last time she felt butterflies, but she did this night! Little did she know this was her last first kiss.
Charlie & Brittany happen to both get a Saturday off. They woke up & took the dogs to Kate Sessions, a beautiful park up the hill on Mt. Solidad overlooking the bay & the ocean. They brought their blanket, played music & let the dogs run around. The weather was perfect, so why not stay out? Jaysen, Brittany's brother was living with them for the summer & worked at a kayak shop in La Jolla. Charlie and Brittany made a picnic & went up see him. They brought their Tommy Bahama chairs, laid out, met Jay, grubbed, & watched him work. Charlie then suggested to Brittany that they go for dinner in Pacific Beach. Brittany was super excited, not only had it been an ideal day off, but she was going to have the chance to get ready. Getting ready daily wasn't necessary in her line of work at that time. When they got home from the beach she talked Charlie into an hour nap. The hour nap turned into a few, worried she wasn't going to have enough time to get "girl ready" for dinner. Charlie agreed he would wait & it would be a late dinner. Forgetting it was a Saturday night and they were going to Pacific Beach, the dinner was entertaining to say the least. Young & dumb shannanagas were everywhere. Dinner & a show. After dinner Charlie suggested walking the boardwalk? Brittany explained she was too tired. Charlie, "Since when do you not want to walk the beach?" Brittany, "Since when do you want to walk the beach?" They laughed & again enjoyed the shenanigans on the boardwalk. Then Charlie suggested to walk down to the water. Brittany explained she was tired. Charlie, "Since when do you not want to walk in the sand?" Brittany, "Since when do you want to walk in the sand?" As they walked down to the water Charlie said to Brittany, "You know you're my best friend?" This followed a proposal. There were tears, laughter & of course she said, "YES!" As they walked back up the beach she noticed they were outside the bar they met at! The bartender congratulated them with Champagne, CHEERS
