We have known each other for years being involved and working for the same college ministry. But it wasn't until working closely together on Stumo's winter conference that we really began to spend time around one another. I had always noticed how hard of a worker Brittany was and anytime anyone talked about her they always raved. After a conference we both attended and got to spend a little more time around each other I decided to call and ask her on a date! Not long after I drove to Austin where we went to dinner and went and got ice cream (ice cream is kind of our thing now - it is rare our time together doesn't end with it)! And that was the beginning!

Brittany knew that a proposal was on the horizon. Because of that - I had to do what I could to make it a surprise! I went to school at TCU and am as big a TCU Football fan as it gets - so what better way to surprise her than proposing during the biggest game of TCU's history, the College Football Playoff Semifinal. This same time also happened to be during one of the busiest weeks of our jobs. She thought we were going to a TCU game watch party - but instead we showed up to a park. There I had book with letters/prayers that I had written over the last several months. Dating long distance, one of the things that we would do was exchange letters back and forth with each other. This book had letters from different stages of our relationship until the last one, where I told her I loved her for the very first time! I got down on a knee and asked her to marry me where she jumped up and down with excitement! We could not be more excited for our future together and look forward to celebrating with you all!
