We're getting married!

It all started on a rainy morning during freshman year of high school. Brittany and Calistus happened to share the same bus stop, where Calistus stood waiting with his saxophone in hand. Brittany’s mom insisted they offer him a ride to school. Embarrassed to approach someone she didn’t know, Brittany reluctantly asked — and thankfully, he said yes. What began as a simple ride turned into a close friendship that would grow for years to come. It wasn’t until “College Day” at school, when they both showed up proudly wearing University of Texas gear, that they realized they would both be heading to UT Austin. Soon after, outside the Jester dorms, Calistus asked Brittany out for the first time. Brittany, however, wasn’t entirely convinced it was officially a date, so she invited her roommate Carolina and friend Nikki to join them at Barton Springs. Ironically, none of them knew how to swim — but somehow the date still worked out. After graduation, life took them to different cities. Brittany moved to Boston to work at Dana-Farber while Calistus stayed in Houston to begin his career. For four years, they navigated long distance through countless flights, weekend trips, and video calls. During that time, Brittany worked tirelessly toward her dream of becoming a doctor and was accepted to medical school at Ohio State. Soon after, Calistus followed her to Columbus, and for the first time in years, they were finally living in the same city again. Now, after more than 10 years together — from rainy bus stops and college adventures to long-distance flights and new beginnings — they’re so excited to celebrate the start of their next chapter with all of you.
