Matron of Honor
Brittany met Leisl while attending grad school in Chattanooga. They were inseparable. You could find them making friendship bracelets in Coolidge Park, sipping mimosas at FoodWorks, or attempting every outdoor activity Chattanooga had to offer, to which they completed with mediocracy at best. But hey, they had a great time trying! They were best friends from the start and have managed to stay that way 2,000 miles apart.
Maid of Honor
Brittany met Mallory while living in LA. From day one, they were attached at the hip. While they enjoy getting out and being social, their favorite time together is spent sitting on the couch, sipping wine, devouring food, and solving all of the worlds problems. You know all those topics you should avoid discussing with people? Religion, race, politics. etc.? Those are usually the things Brittany and Mallory spend their time together talking about. It’s what best friends do.
Best Man
John Mustain aka John Francis, Mustang, Johnny Mushoss, Manman, is Brad's childhood neighbor, schoolmate since kindergarten, college roommate, and Los Angeles cohort. Even though he is now residing in Santa Fe, NM, John continues to be one of Brad's closest friends. Ask John about any of his latest projects from music to barrel making and you’re bound to be entertained!
Bridesmaid
Brittany and Anna Curl met years ago in the beautiful woods of Camp Maranatha. Later, they attended Auburn University together and returned to work as counselors at Maranatha, where you could find them walking around Cabin Hill, holding hands, trying to convince all the campers that they were actually twins. If Anna and Brittany are making plans, they are more than likely planning some sort of outdoor activity. Camping, a festival, a few days at the beach, a hike. Brittany can always count on Anna Curl to be down for some outdoor fun.
Bridesmaid
Anna Marie and Brittany are first cousins. Actually Anna Marie was Brittany's first first cousin. She came and rocked Brittany’s little, only grandchild world. With that, Anna brought a permanent friend and playmate. Nothing beat beach trips with the family, staying up late playing a game and sleeping 4 deep in a bed, not by force, but because we all wanted to be right next to each other. Friends come and go, but those cousins, like Anna, who were there from the start and love unconditionally, will always be there cheering you on.
Bridesmaid
April and Brittany met in 2013 at the Auburn football watch party in Hollywood. They casually started talking, realized they were neighbors, and nothing about their LA worlds has ever been the same since. While they love a good roof top bar, a day at the beach, or a Sunday afternoon brunch, you can usually find them curled up on the couch watching The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, or their favorite, Dateline. April is Brittany's friend who is down for anything, and no matter what they choose to do, it's always a good time.
Groomsman/Singer
Boyd is the younger brother of Brittany Stover Jackson. He used to live with and take care of Brittany in Los Angeles before she met Brad. He decided to move to Stanford to get away from Brittany, although he tells people it's because he wanted to go to law school. I'm telling you all of this because it seemed too coincidental that Brad met Brittany around the time Boyd left LA. One day, Brittany let it slip that her brother used to take care of her, but now he was leaving. It was at this moment that Brad realized he was here to serve a purpose. Now, Brad and Boyd bond over their care-taking duties. As a gesture of thanks for passing the torch, Brad has requested Boyd to join him on his wedding day.
Groomsman
Cole has been one of Brad's friends since elementary school. In college, he would drive up from LSU to MSU to play in a band with Brad. They were the two guitarist of the infamous rock band, Wood. Together with their striking blues licks and New Orleans rhythmic funk, they'd fuel the elated or sunken hearts of the Cotton District Folk after many football games. Years later, Cole will come to support Brad at his wedding... Or is it really just to get the band back together!?!
Groomsman
Daniel and Brad first bonded over video games and soccer during the 11th grade. This bond was the seed to a now blossoming life long friendship full of absurdity and intelligence. Today Dan lives in Memphis, but he continues to keep in touch with Brad as a founding member of their highly exclusive book club. As legend has it, this book club came into being while on Dan's bachelor party in Chicago. Now they convene monthly to discuss books ranging from modern business statistics and entrepreneurial operating systems to American Philosophy. Coincidentally, their first planned seminar is conveniently scheduled for Saturday morning at 9am, August 3rd, at the Westin in Chattanooga, TN. They hope to see you there.
Bridesmaid
Katie and Brittany met briefly in Nashville in 2016. In 2017, Katie came to LA to visit where they strolled on the beaches, saw the sites, and ate their way through the city. Since then, they have attended college football games together, celebrated Christmas morning together, taken a beautiful vacation to Portland together, and in December of 2017, Katie made Brittany an aunt! Oh, Katie is also Brad's sister, but this isn't really about him is it?
Bridesmaid
Katie and Brittany met in college. After a whole year of attending the same sorority swaps, socials, and chapter meetings, Brittany and Katie finally spoke their first words to each other during sorority recruitment of their sophomore year. They bonded over a plate of frozen green grapes and quickly realized the friendship they had missed out on their entire freshman year. Katie and Brittany spent the rest of their college years together going to football games, attending many themed costume parties, and taking lots of road trips. She quickly became a Jackson family favorite. In all honesty, she practically is a Jackson now.
Bridesmaid
Lacey was one of the first people Brittany met when she moved to Athens when she was four years old. As little ones, they would obsess over Mary Kate and Ashley and spend hours running around the softball fields. As time passed, it was all about beach trips, the sonic drive thru, the drive in movie theater, and their celebrity obsession turned to Oprah. Today, they don’t see each other as often as they would like, but they are in constant communication discussing their fitness, meal, organizing, and budgeting goals and plans. Lacey and Brittany are true friends whose relationship has evolved with the times.
Bridesmaid
Martha and Brittany are cousins. 5th cousins. For those of you who are confused, this means that they share great-great grandparents. While their DNA may not say that they are closely related, you can't convince them of that. As children, they spent weeks together during the summer traveling between Mississippi and Alabama, trying to squeeze in as much time together as possible. Now they talk of raising their own babies together, as cousins, who will share great-great-great grandparents.
Groomsman
Mikey Phlood is Brad's cousin. Growing up together in the same neighborhood, Rollingwood, gave these two totally awesome dudes many excellent adventures. Whether it was building forts, ramping bikes, catching snakes or breaking arms, there was never a dull moment. Throughout the years, Mikey's tastes in music and cinema had a great influence on Brad. Nowadays, they frequently communicate about such things, but mainly to discuss their latest appreciations of the band Phish.
Groomsman
Nathan and Brad met one fateful night at Hollywood’s best Rock N Roll bar, The Piano Bar, through their mutual friend Rich. Nathan and Brad instantly hit it off, and Nathan joined the band, Ambl. Nathan now plays keys, saxophone, flute, and just about every other musical instrument with the band. He is the California native of the group, and so by default, loves to hike, climb, and surf. Be sure to say hello to this friendly fellow, but please do not challenge him to climb anything during the wedding... He’ll do it.
Groomsman
Rich was the first band member to join Brad at his residency at the Piano Bar in Hollywood. The Philly drummer added much needed power and soul to the music! Rich and Brad have been jamming ever since. Rich upholds the classic drummer stereotype, and is the most social of the group. You can be sure to find him meeting & greeting with everyone at the wedding.... unless he’s already found you first.
Groomsman
Rusty is Brad’s brother-in-law. Rusty goes for Alabama, but Brad looks past this and accepts him anyway because he has Cajun roots and makes a mean gumbo... and because he’s married to Brad’s only sister, and father to Brad’s only two nieces. Rusty and Brad also bonded over a shared dream to become California surfers like their role model, “California Surfer Dude.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJdF8DJ70Dc - WAHPAH!!!
Groomsman
Everybody loves Taylor... Especially Brittany's Dad.
Bridesmaid
Victoria is another one of Brittany’s cousins (she has a lot). But these two cousins are two peas in a pod. They both tell it how it is, and as their grandmother would say, “they’ll both drive you noo-noo” which they both take as a compliment, considering she usually said this with tears rolling down her face from laughing so hard at her two outspoken granddaughters. If you spot these two cousins together, they’ll more than likely be hovering around the nearest assortment of food, arguing their cases about why each one of them was the favorite grandchild.
Groomsman
Wells is one of Brad’s oldest friends. In fact, there is a home video of the two of them at the age of two, where in the video, Brad manages to punch Wells in the face. While although he probably deserved it, their violent streak thankfully subsided, and they have been friends ever since. In college, Wells was the bassist for the infamous band, Wood. Rumor has it that his thumping bass lines still ring throughout the Cotton District if you listen hard enough. Will those bass lines be heard again in Chattanooga!?... Time will tell.
Flower Girl
Ava and Brittany are best buds. They share a love of red colored gummies, white queso, and all things sparkly and rainbow. Most importantly, they’re both really great at keeping Big Jojo (Brittany’s dad) in line. Ava is very dedicated to her flower girl roll; she’s been practicing with a basket full of shredded toilet paper since December!
Ring Bearers
Felix & Magnus are Brittany's other loves. If you ask them, they'll be quick to tell you that Brittany has known them longer than she has known Brad and actually loves them WAY more than she does him. Don't worry. It's no secret to Brad. They've told him this on numerous occasions.
Singer
Brandon is Brittany’s adopted LA brother. Brittany’s biological brother, Boyd, met Brandon at college, where they sang in the same a cappella group and eventually became roommates. Brandon’s family was incredibly welcoming to Brittany and Boyd when they moved out west, giving them the title of “LA adopted family.” Boyd constantly compares Brittany and Brandon, saying that they are just alike, which we all know is meant to be a huge compliment.
Singer
Michael was one of Boyd's high school best friends. Brittany loves Michael. Brittany's dad loves Michael. Brittany's mom loves Michael. And yes, Brad loves Michael too. This is not said lightly. They all really love Michael. If there is an opportunity to see Michael, they all jump on it. Brittany's parents have gone to see Michael perform more times than Brad has seen Phish. On the wedding day, you'll understand why.
Proxy Bride
Grace is Brittany's real life "stand-in", so it just makes since that she would be her stand-in for the rehearsal as well. Grace moved from Chicago to go to school at Auburn (with a big push coming from the Jackson family). She now spends long weekends and some holidays with Brittany's parents and has officially taken over her bedroom. They share the same love for Auburn football, the same sense of humor, and well, they are kinda just the same.
Officiant
David, aka Uncle David, has been a Jackson family favorite since the early 90s when he first ventured to Athens with his new bride to take the calling of associate pastor at First Presbyterian Church on the square. From there, he became the director of Camp Maranatha, where Brittany flocked to every time the gates were open. Later, he returned to First Presbyterian as the head preacher. Basically, he has been a big part of Brittany’s life as far back as she can remember. Offer him a beer. Hand him a guitar. Get to know him. I promise you’ll like him.
Wedding Planner
Raven is the best, and all credit goes to her. Brittany will probably call Raven to help plan everything in her life from here on out. Make sure to say hello to Raven when you see her!
