How We Met by Brittany

As many couples meet these days, I officially met Adam on the dating app Bumble. I knew he looked familiar, but I could not pin point how I knew him. When I mustered up the courage to message him and ask how we knew each other, he responded with: "Well, let's solve this mystery together." If anyone knows me I am ALL about mysteries...so that was the best pickup line. ;) We met a few days later at the Thirsty Lion in Cherry Creek, CO. After conversation, margaritas and appetizers, I remembered casually meeting Adam in college through mutual friends. We spent the evening talking about college memories, mutual friends, our families and interests. I knew Adam was the one after our third date in Boulder, CO. We spent the day exploring shops, reading books at the local bookstore, and eating Italian food at Pasta Jay's. Once dinner ended, I excused myself to go to the ladies room. I looked myself in the mirror, took a deep breath, shed a few happy tears, and had the biggest smile on my face. I knew I was meant to spend forever with Adam. I am blessed to call myself his future wife.

How We Met by Adam

August 2012

I had just transferred to Fort Collins, and I was eager to 'plug in'. Roommates invited me to a barbeque promising sand volleyball, good food and better people. The sand volley ball was mediocre. The food about as good as you could expect from 19 year olds on an outdoor city park grill- less than mediocre. But the people saved the day. In fact, a handful of the invitees to our wedding were in attendance that day. Most importantly, I met the lovely Miss Brittany. The kicker? She has no recollection. Fast forward to Fall of 2016. I match with Brittany on a dating app, Bumble. This particular app centers around the concept that once matched, the woman must engage first. "What a concept!" I thought to myself as I realized I now had no way to engage the cute CSU Teacher that I recognized from that barbeque when I first went to CSU. So I waited, and waited, and waited, and then she never reached out. Then we matched again, and again, and on the third time matching- she sends me a message. "You look so familiar." And I am slightly crushed. She doesn't remember me. The guy who absolutely dominated that mediocre game of sand volleyball. "You do too. Let's solve that mystery together" The messages became more frequent, and then we exchanged phone numbers (Dating in the 2010's!). We decided to meet at a neutral location. Nowhere near either of our houses at the time. Actually comical in hindsight. I showed up early because I really wanted to make a good first impression. And then... She walked in. Beautiful. Glowing. Wearing the typical Miss Brittany smile, and lighting up the room (something I have grown accustomed to and will never grow tired of). That is the moment I met Brittany.
