It was a dark and stormy Halloween night. The Spooks In Space crew were having a bash. After having only lived in Southern Oregon for 2 weeks, Aaron was invited to a Halloween party that Brittany was hosting. As the two were both wearing tinfoil on their heads that night, you could say that something was happening.

Aaron started hanging out with the friend group Brittany was a part of and the two began to get to know each other casually.

Aaron decided it was time to test the waters and asked Brittany to go out to dinner. Their first date was at Osteria La Briccola, an Italian restaurant in Ashland. Brittany wasn’t quite sure what to think at the time, and they decided to just stay friends.

Aaron was on a roadtrip at Zion National Park with some friends, while Brittany was in Arizona visiting her new niece. Her brother and her decided to head over to Zion for a couple nights to camp with their friends. As Brittany was getting ready to head back to Arizona, Aaron asked if she would be willing to go out again. After a careful consideration of about 2 seconds, Brittany said yes.

One day, while the two were cleaning Brittany’s brother’s Airbnb, Aaron stopped cleaning, looked at Brittany and said “Brittany, I really like you, and I’m going to tell you all the reasons why.” He went on to say some very sweet things and then officially asked Brittany to be his girlfriend, to which Brittany replied, “I don’t know how to be anyone’s girlfriend.” But eventually she said yes.

One random Tuesday evening, the two were talking when Brittany said “I really like you, I love you.” Aaron got really serious all of a sudden and looked at Brittany. Brittany was confused as to why the sudden change from the light-heartedness of the conversation. Then Aaron said “I love you.” Brittany, not realizing she had already said I love you, started explaining the reasons why she loved Aaron and then said "I love you," thinking it was the first time she was saying this. Aaron started laughing and told her she had already said that. To this day, Brittany has no memory of saying I love you first.

Aaron and Brittany were up with Brittany’s parents visiting her sister, brother in law, and niece up in Washington. They went for a hike at Latourell Falls (near Multnomah Falls) that Saturday morning. As they were coming back down, they stopped at a lookout by the falls to get some pictures. They took some pictures, then they took some more… then some more… and some more. Brittany was wondering why they were taking so many photos, but thought "well, it is a nice waterfall." Brittany was looking at some of the photos on her dad’s phone when she looked up and saw her mom holding up her phone towards her. Brittany was confused as to what was going on, until she turned around and saw Aaron down on one knee. Brittany thought Aaron was tying his shoe at first, but then caught a glimpse of the ring. Aaron asked Brittany to marry him, and of course she said yes!
