Brittany and Sami first met at the pool deck at the Brooklyn SoHo House in June 2023 when they happened to be sitting in the cabanas next to one another. They only chatted for a couple of minutes, but something told them to exchange Instagram accounts. In the moment neither of them thought too much of it. Not before a month later that is, when Sami was in Paris for just a day, and happened to notice on Instagram that Brittany was in the city too. He suggested to meet for a coffee at Cafe Kitsune, which turned into a spontaneous 10-hour date that ended at midnight, sitting on the River Seine with the locals. After both had returned to New York—and realizing they lived only 3 blocks apart—they went on a few more dates and... have been inseparable ever since. From cooking at home to dining out; from experiencing the city to traveling around the US, South East Asia and France's Wine Country, they're united by their love of life, new experiences, travel and their amazing community of friends and family. Sami proposed to Brittany in March 2024. Not having the opportunity to ask Brittany's dad Jeffrey, who passed away in 2021, for her hand he planned a date night to honor him. Knowing Jeff was an avid golfer, he took them mini-golfing before visiting Jeffrey's memorial bench on the West Side of New York City. That's where Sami popped the question, so that Jeff could be a part of their special moment. ....And that is how a Finnish man and a Californian woman found each other in the most unique of circumstances - being complete opposites and the perfect complements to each other. :) We can't wait to celebrate our story with you all!
