Please check in with us directly for any persons not mentioned on the invite. Please keep in mind we have limited seating capacity and this also affects catering.
No, the venue does not allow pets.
Yes, the ceremony will take place along a lake dock with wooden tiered seating and the reception will be under a covered and open pavilion by the water. Please consider bringing sunscreen and sunglasses!
We will be going with a semi-casual/semi-formal style. Aka, a nice sun dress in your closet or a button up shirt with slacks. Do consider bringing a light jacket or sweater for a cooler night as the average nighttime temperature is 56 degrees F/13 degrees C. Also, stilettos may not be the best shoe to wear as the ceremony seating is on gravel and dirt and uneven surfaces.
Since we’re going with an in-between-seasons day it could be on the comfortably warmer side(around a high of 78 degrees F, 25 degrees C with a low of around 56 degrees F, 13 degrees C). Rain could be possible so do prepare for that chance by bringing an umbrella.
We’d love to see each person’s own unique perspective. We just ask that you please wait until after the ceremony as we will have professional photographers and videographers getting shots and they would look best without phones seen. If you’d like to get a photo with us just let us know! We can even get our photographer to get the professional shot for you if you’d like.
You do not need to RSVP through mail. We prefer that you do so through the website or by texting 540-729-3863
Please RSVP by May 1st, 2025 so we will be best prepared for your arrival, or unfortunate decline.
Yes!
Ample parking will be available at the venue
There are hotels located about a 15 minute drive from the venue, as well as cabins which are about a 25 minute drive. Please check out our “Places to Stay” page for more info!
We will make sure to add to the home page if any changes occur in regards to time or schedule.
At this time we do not plan to livestream the wedding due to there being now Wi-Fi and spotty cell service, but we will be taking lots of professional videos and photos throughout the day which will be posted!
NO, Absolutely no flower seeds, bird seed or artificial flower petals/leaves, or confetti/loose paper items or glitter are to be thrown on the premises. Seeds can disrupt the venue and flowers and plants already planted and artificial decor can harm the environment by taking years to disintegrate. Rice however is fine and allowed at the venue.
NO, this can be a fire hazard for the venue.
Yes, there is a designated smoking area located at the fire pit. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground, there will be sand buckets available to use.
There will not be Wi-Fi available. The cell service out here is bad as well, but we consider it to be a nice disconnect from the social media world where for one day we can enjoy each other’s company to the fullest!
First of all wear what is comfortable! If you’d like to try and match the colour theme we are going with its dusty pink and mint. Otherwise, think spring colours!
Yes! We will be offering a seasonal veggie platter starter and salad option if you have a vegan or vegetarian dietary need.
Yes, there will only be a few selections of alcohol available like wine and beer. Please drink in moderation responsibly. Please, if you do decide to drink, be sure you have a designated driver, we don’t want to have to worry about our guests when they leave at the end of the night.
If you would like to honor us with a gift, please check our registry or contact us! Otherwise we will have a guest table for any cards or small gifts.
Our reception should end around 10pm, but you are not required to stay the full duration if you so feel.
We are planning to use about 30-45 minutes between the ceremony and reception to get some photos. You are free to roam the venue, take a bathroom break, admire the natural beauty and connect with the other guests. You may also use this time to find your table and seat for the reception.
Feel free to get in touch with either Dwight or Brittany through Facebook, text or email.
There is no wifi at the venue and the cell phone signal is spotty and unreliable. If you need signal you may need to travel about 10 minutes toward Farmville town limits.
