Our Story

Denny and Brittany met in August of 2008 at Candler School of Theology. They saw each other in class and at gatherings with friends. The two remained connected though they went their separate ways after Denny graduated in 2010. Over the years, Denny and Brittany remained connected via social media. Denny sent a message to several people in Atlanta in the fall of 2019 saying he would be visiting. In November of 2019, Denny and Brittany reconnected. After Denny left to go home, they continued to talk daily. In January of 2020, Brittany flew to Orlando to see Denny. The two were pretty sure there was something between them but wanted to see for sure. She flew home on January 4, 2020, and the two officially started dating. Long-distance and throughout a pandemic, Denny and Brittany made almost monthly visits. On October, 30, 2021, Denny, Brittany, and the girls (Jubilee, Clementine, and Amelia) went to the Carlos Museum at Emory. Jubilee, in particular, had expressed an interest in going to see the mummies. While on campus, Denny suggested they walk around to show the girls where they had met. In the sprinkling, cold rain, Denny handed the phone to Jubilee for a photo outside the Candler School of Theology building. What started off as a photo op turned into a proposal. Denny shared that campus had changed and so had their relationship. He then suggested maybe it could change a little more, got down on one knee, and popped the question. Completely caught off guard, Brittany eventually got a yes out. Their story continues as they look to forever and a day together as husband, wife, and a family of five.
