Brittany and Zane met a long time ago in 2018 at a St. Pete beach bar when they were both living the true St. Petersburg life, as they say "looking for love in all the wrong places". After a sunset with friends and some coincidental encounters, our lives took us different directions for a few years but somehow things had aligned and conversation started. The only problem was Zane was in Pittsburgh at the time and Brittany was in St. Petersburg. So, after a few flights and some long weekends Zane, knowing he had very little time, packed up and made the move to Florida. After sealing the deal with a small French bulldog (Croqueta) we both knew that this would be the beginning of a bright new future that had been years in the making.
In February of 2018, I was with my sister and best friend, Elaina, enjoying St. Pete beach and a few of the local beach bars when Elaina and I saw a handsome man across the bar. Elaina was extremely insistent that we talk to him, which was out of the ordinary. For those who don’t know us, our friend group of girls was notorious for going out and enjoying each other’s company and we were rarely interested in what other groups of people were doing! After meeting the handsome man across the bar, Elaina was convinced that day that he was my future husband and we were meant to be. I had been friends with her since middle school and this again, was out of the ordinary and something she had never said to me. Zane and I laughed and brushed her off that day. And now, looking back I am beyond grateful for her persistence! After going our separate ways after that encounter on St. Pete beach I thought we would never see each other again but, we continued to cross paths while we were both living downtown. Then, life took us (or just Zane) in different directions. Zane went off to travel and Brittany stayed living in St. Pete. A few short messages were exchanged on social media throughout the years until one day in February of 2022, the timing of our “DMing” was perfect. Zane took a trip down to St. Pete and swept me off my feet (again)! A couple of trips down to Florida later and we were both convinced it was worth moving Croqueta for. A year and a half later, Zane proposed in Cinque Terre, Italy <3.
