It all started in 8th grade at Madison Middle School in the fall of 2012. From brief chats between classes to walking out together at the day's end, every moment spent together was treasured. A decade later, we revisited those familiar halls, but this time for a different reason. Nate managed to persuade Britt that his mom, Karen, had left her computer at Madison Middle School after a meeting. Knowing Karen's forgetfulness, Britt didn't find it unusual. We entered the school to "retrieve the forgotten computer," and as we walked down the familiar hallway we usually left from at the end of each school day, we stumbled upon a bouquet of flowers. As Britt approached it, she turned around to find Nate on one knee—not to tie a shoe, but for something far more special.
