Folsom Historic District
Great restaurants for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Close to the bike trail, the American River, and the old historic walking bridge.
Old Sacramento
We went here on our first date. Needless to say, we had an amazing time! Great candy shops and delicious restaurants for dinner. I recommend doing the scavenger hunt in the costume shop (believe me, you can't miss it).
Selland's Market-Cafe East Sacramento
This is the restaurant we met for our first date! We sat here on the patio until the restaurant closed. They have an awesome 2-entree dinner for $25 (substitute the wine for a fresh salad or decadent dessert). We recommend the carrot cake and German chocolate cake - YUM!
American River
Find beautiful hikes along the American River (from Old Town Sacramento, Historic Folsom, or up by Coloma). If you want to see all of Folsom (including Folsom Lake), we enjoyed the Johnny Cash Trail. If you choose this trail, make sure to wear sunscreen and bring water - it's hot!
Coloma
Visit Coloma to enjoy a tour of how California was during the Gold Rush time. Bring a lunch to eat by the beautiful American River, or if you feel really ambitious, join a white-water rafting group!
Folsom Lake State Recreation Area
Rent a motor-boat, kayaks, bikes, or wear some hiking boats to enjoy the beautiful Folsom Lake Reservoir. This is the lake Britanie grew-up wakeboarding and hanging-out with friends. P.S. it's also nice and warm!!
Folsom Prison Museum
Receive a tour of Folsom Prison. Known for the famous Johnny Cash song "Folsom Prison Blues".
Palladio
Visit the Palladio in Folsom for shopping, movies, and delicious lunch/dinner restaurants.
Sacramento California Temple
We love this place!! The grounds are gorgeous, with large oak trees and walking trails. We come here once a week just to sit on our large jean blanket and enjoy the wonderful spirit here. This is a must see!!
