FAQs

Question

Where is the wedding site?

Answer

The wedding ceremony and reception will be hosted at the Angel Ranch, our friend's private property in the beautiful Humboldt forest with incredible views of the Mad River valley and (if it’s clear) the ocean! The ranch is a 20-minute drive from Blue Lake. It is not a public venue, so you’ll find all of the information about the site here!

Question

Will there be vegetarian, vegan, and/or gluten-free dishes?

Answer

Yes, there will be vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free dishes provided. Please let us know if there are any other dietary restrictions we should plan to accommodate.

Question

What kind of facilities are provided?

Answer

The wedding site is off the grid, so there is no running water or electricity. The wedding site will be equipped with two luxury trailer bathrooms, each complete with a flush toilet, sink, mirror, and lights. Each trailer is accessed via narrow steps, so there will also be a handicap accessible luxury porta-potty, complete with hand sanitizer, etc.

Question

Is the site handicap accessible?

Answer

Yes -- the site is on grassy, uneven ground but entirely accessible to all. There will be plenty of chairs as well as a handicap porta-potty available.

Question

What kind of weather should I expect?

Answer

An outdoor wedding in Humboldt could mean anything---sun, rain, wind! Please pay close attention to the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Sunglasses, hats, umbrellas are all good ideas. https://weather.com/weather/tenday/l/95550:4:US Tents will provide cover from most of the elements, but be prepared! The weather will also change with the time of day. We anticipate a warm afternoon for the ceremony, but when the sun sets (~8:00pm), the fog will roll in and cool us down (sometimes as low at 55 degrees).

Question

Is there parking available onsite?

Answer

Yes -- There will be a designated parking area for all guest vehicles at the wedding site. Be aware that the lot is on an uneven, grassy landscape. Four wheel drive is not required but may be more reliable.

Question

Can I smoke at the wedding?

Answer

No, sorry -- The wedding site is located in a heavily wooded area where fire danger will be high, so this will be a non-smoking event! One stray spark could mean disaster. We appreciate you waiting to smoke until you're outside of the private property.
