Drew and McKenna first knew of each other through friends and soccer in the early years of high school, but it wasn’t until senior year that they truly connected. One weekend at a friend’s house, fate stepped in — McKenna was recovering from ACL surgery, crutches and knee brace in tow, and Drew likes to joke that he finally had the chance to slow her down long enough to win her over. What started as casual conversations quickly grew into something more. Drew wowed McKenna with his creative stories and wit, while McKenna impressed Drew with her humor and resilience. By November 2014, they were officially dating. College took them on different paths at first — Drew to Ohio State and McKenna to Ohio University. They spent weekends traveling back and forth on the Go Bus until McKenna decided OU wasn’t the right fit and transferred to OSU her sophomore year. From then on, they shared the college experience: cheering at Buckeye games, pursuing their majors, and making memories that would last a lifetime. In 2019, they graduated and stepped into the world of “big kid jobs.” A year later, during the pandemic, they moved in together and adopted their first cat, Luna. Since then, their family has grown by two more cats and two nieces, and their life together in Columbus has continued to thrive. They love exploring the city, attending Crew games, spending time with friends, and frequenting their favorite neighborhoods, such as the Short North, Grandview, and German Village. After years of adventures, laughter, and love, they can’t wait to begin this next chapter together — surrounded by the people who mean the most to them.
