We're Getting Married!

Online dating isn't for everyone, and I started to think it wasn't for me either after several not so good outings. Though, it only takes finding the right one! Brinkley actually messaged me first (bold of her!), as she was in Savannah Georgia, and that was far outside my distance parameters. We chatted back and forth for a while before I gathered up the courage to ask her out. We decided that Macon was a good place to meet up, as it was halfway for both of us. So on October 2nd, 2022 we met up at Pearl's Passionate Cuisine and Cocktails (her idea!) in downtown Macon. The date went well, but at the time I was nervous that I talked way to much! I managed to talk her into a 2nd date at High Falls State Park the next weekend. The 2nd date at High Falls was where I knew this could be something special. We had a great time exploring the park and had dinner in Macon. At the end all I could think was when the next date would be! Fortunately, I only had to wait 2 weeks, and then I made my first trek to Savannah. I made the 4.5 hour drive from Opelika to Savannah for a weekend date. I had never been to Savannah, so I was eager to explore. We both had a great time exploring Savannah, and had sushi and ice cream on River Street. We were both eager to see what was next, and it wouldn't be long before we had our first trip together! Brinkley's vacation was coming up and we planed a beach trip. 2 weeks later I picked her up at the airport in Pensacola for our beach vacation. It was during this trip that we knew that we would be a couple. Beach walks, Ferris wheels, and Mini-golf do wonders for a budding relationship! Many more dates and trips were in our future. We have been a lot of places in a short amount of time! We visited Jekyll Island in November 2022, Utah in December 2022, a cruise to St. Thomas and B.V.I. in March '23, Camping in Edisto Beach in April '23, Panama City in July '23, an RV trip to Canada in August '23, Holland in December '23, and Perdido Key in February '24. I made the official move to Savannah full time in July of 2023. Many things have happened since then. A new job for me, several trips as listed above, many dates and concerts, and even a new addition to the family, our puppy Smokey! All of these events finally led up to our May '24 Cancun trip. Brinkley's vacation was scheduled in May, so we decided to plan an exciting Vacation, a trip to an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico! It was here, among the surf and sand that I had decided to propose. I asked Brinkley to get dressed up for "pictures" and we headed down to the beach. After handing my phone to a passing security guard, we got set up for the picture, and I turned and popped the question. Brinkley's response was to say "Really!?" three times which didn't help my nerves, but she finally said yes! So as of the evening of May 8th 2024 we were Engaged! It has been a exciting 2 years meeting and getting to know each other. The time has really flown by! From exciting trips, to simple weekends at home, we have had a great time together and we hope to have many more adventures as Husband & Wife.
