This one is a tale as old as time! The Lord intertwined our paths at a small, southern christian college called Southern Wesleyan University. There we both played college soccer together for two seasons, completely unaware that our "unique bond" or "gravitational pull towards one another" was anything more than just a strong friendship. This unsuspecting courtship continued for a few years...both of us leaving many a strapping, young, southern, gentleman left confused and disappointed in the doorway after a date because our "best friend" was already inside waiting on us. Never the less, it did eventually become clear to us, divine revelation some might call it, that our unique friendship was in fact love. The romantic, head over heels, for better or worse, in sickness and in health, forever and always, once in a lifetime, kind of love. Which brings us to the reason for this website! We would be honored for you all to help us celebrate and commemorate that love!
We were both a little perplexed at first as to how the whole proposal situation should play out. We both had worked with a local artist/ friend who helped us design and create the other's engagement ring. So since we both had a ring, it only seemed appropriate that we each have the opportunity to give it to the other person in our own unique moment. #millennials Proposal #1 (Comics & Smoky Cocktails) Kendall decided to take Allison to see one of their favorite female comics, at the Comedy Club in Charlotte. Afterwards they went to a restaurant called The Cellar at Duckworth's, which is known for its smoky cocktails. Much like the description, they serve you a cocktail engulfed in a cloud of smoke which they entrap under a glass dome. Very much a medieval apothecary type vibe, which seemed like the perfect way to present someone with a diamond ring. So when the bartenders brought out this swirling encasement, Allison thought she was in for a refreshing, smokey libation. However, rather than a cocktail there was a ring. Kendall got down on one knee and as you may guess, she said YES! Since the next day was Allison's birthday, the two spent the weekend celebrating with family and friends! Proposal #2 Goats) A few weeks later, Allison told Kendall to meet her out at South Wind Ranch (the wedding venue), so that they could meet with their wedding planner. At this point the wedding was a year and seven months out, so this seemed a little pre-mature, but any excuse to see baby goats! Upon arrival, Allison seemed intensely eager to go see the goats and immediately caught and handed Kendall a baby goat wearing a bandana that read, "Marry Meeeee?". Then Allison began reading some heart felt words she had previously written, as goats climbed and nibbled on her script. She then got down on one knee and pulled out a diamond ring and after an embarrassing amount of time passed, it dawned on Kendall that the goat (and ring) was intended for her!
