How we met

Starkville, MS

It was my junior year and Baileys senior year at Mississippi State. We both made it through our first semester and were getting settled into our classes to finish up the year, Baileys last few months as a Bulldog. Being my first year at State, I was basically lost for the first week of both semesters trying to find my classrooms, so I always tried to get to my classes pretty early and pick the best seat. So I found my Business Calculus class, got settled in and people started to roll in. A lot of people.. too many people for this tiny classroom. MSU double booked the room, and Bailey was close to the last person to stroll in before class started. Only a few open seats left to chose from, Bailey chose the one right next to me. I had secretly been Instagram stalking Bailey, so I had an idea of who he was. Our classes got situated and of course mine got moved to a different building but not before we got to chit chat. A few months go by and no Bailey.. Another mutual friend of ours asked me to go to Cowbells on Thursday night which is in the Highlands where Bailey was currently living. So, every Thursday he was always there with a 690 afterparty waiting to happen. Thursday night rolls around and we get ready to go, and there he is at Cowbells where we all end up sitting together. As the night grows later we decide to go to Baileys house to continue to hangout and the story unfolds from there. Thursday nights becoming normal, leading into hanging out at Dudy Noble, taco Tuesdays at Ricks, and basically just never leaving. (I claim this is how I passed the 3 month rule, I just never left.) So thank you Starkville, thank you MSU for double booking a classroom, thank you Cowbells for always partying longer.

The Proposal

Pass Christian, MS

The week leading up to the big day was nothing out of the normal for us. We had been planning to make the trip to the coast for a few weeks, considering it was Memorial Day weekend. A week before Memorial Day weekend my best friend, Lauren, asked what our plans were and if her and Clay could come stay with us. I was ecstatic that she asked considering I have been trying to get her to come down for two years. Later that week, Bailey offered to pay for me to get my nails done. Nothing to weird since Bailey can be extra sweet every once in a while. I just went on about my week and we got ready to leave to head to the coast. At this point everyone had known about the proposal for at least a month, if not longer. Lauren and Clay were leaving early Saturday morning to head our way, so we were making lunch plans for Saturday in the Bay. Me not knowing the real situation, I invited Kristin and Dalton to come also, probably stressing Bailey even more now having a bigger crowd. I still hadn't put all the parts together yet. Lunch rolls around and we have a few drinks and eat lunch and then were supposed to head to Bacchus for more drinks. But first Lauren says she wants to go to the beach for pictures, still normal. To the beach we go. Lauren and I take some pictures, Clay and Lauren, then Bailey and I. Bailey suggest I get on his back for a picture, then he gets on my back, his way of getting behind me. He finally gets me to turn around to pop the question and I instantly start to cry. (shocker) I get myself together finally and we have a whole photoshoot of the now proposal. After, we still head to Bacchus. I'm over the moon at this point, nothing could make me happier. But, we walk up and my parents are there as well as Baileys. Having everyone there together made the day even more special. The rest is just a big celebration!
