They say an invisible string ties those who are destined to meet, regardless of time, place, or circumstance. For us, that string was woven through the hallways of our high school, just one grade level apart. While Brijido was Class of 2017 and Sara was Class of 2018, we lived in parallel sharing the same teachers, walking the same hallways and, most importantly, sharing the exact same circle of friends. For years, we were 'almosts.' Our friends knew us both individually, yet the universe played the long game, keeping our paths just inches from crossing until the timing was finally right. The thread finally pulled taut at a social gathering hosted by those same mutual friends. After a lifetime of being strangers in the same rooms, we finally stood in the same circle, and the conversation hasn't stopped since. We’re so grateful to the friends who unknowingly held the ends of our string for so long, and we can't wait to celebrate the moment it finally tied into a knot!
