For women, a dress, suit, or jumpsuit all work for a beach formal wedding! Opt for colorful, patterned, and/or breathable fabrics. A flowy maxi dress or tea-length cocktail dress will be much more comfortable than a long formal dress. Bonus points for tropical patterns! For men, feel free to wear either a summer suit or a long-sleeved dress shirt with a jacket, slacks, and dress/nice shoes. Breathable fabrics such as khaki, linen, or seersucker are great for your comfort, but not necessary.
Joe and I are foodies and placed heavy emphasis on the culinary options! During cocktail hour, aside from the staple charcuterie meat, cheese and fruit boards, you'll also enjoy hors d'ourves like spicy salmon tartare, prosciutto-wrapped figs, coconut shrimp, lollipop lamb chops, duck confit crostini, watermelon-feta salad, bacon-wrapped scallops. You'll find a chicken, steak and shrimp taco/fajita bar or a pasta bar depending on what's fresh at the market that morning!
