When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by August 10, 2024 so we can ensure our vendors have an accurate guest count.

Can I bring my kids?
Answer
As much as we love your children, we would prefer to not have a ton of kids at our wedding. We both have large families with a lot of kids on both sides. We hope you will take this as an opportunity to come enjoy the night out! If you absolutely can’t make other arrangements for your children and not being able to bring them would cause you to not come at all, then bring them! We would rather you come with them than not come at all! But please reach out to us and we will add them to the list so our vendors have an accurate count. They will probably not be listed on the RSVP, so please just let us know if you are bringing them and we will add them on our end.

What time should I arrive to the reception by?
Answer
Cocktail hour begins at 4pm, so you are more than welcome to arrive then to enjoy a cocktail and socialize until the bridal party arrives. Please at least be there by 4:45 as the bridal party will be arriving shortly after to start the grand march at 5 pm!

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?
Answer
Yes, there is a block of rooms reserved at the Island Resort & Casino Hotel. Please call to book, as the online booking doesn’t work. Ask for the room block under the Briggs Wedding with booking ID: 18031 Phone number: 1-877-475-7375 Address: W 399 US-2 Harris, MI 49845 If there are no more rooms available at this hotel when you book, there are also hotels in Escanaba, but we don’t have rooms reserved at them.

What is the dress code?
Answer
Technically, the dress code could be called semi formal, but we want you to wear whatever you are comfortable in. As long as it won’t prevent you from dancing all night with us! After all, this is a UP wedding and we are fully prepared to see people in flannels and jeans.

Will there be an open bar?
Answer
Yes, we are providing all the beverages. We will have a variety of beer, wine, mixed drinks, and soda.

What kind of food will be served?
Answer
We will have a buffet style dinner with turkey, meatballs, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, macaroni salad, fruit salad, and rolls.

Can I take pictures to post on social media?
Answer
While we are so happy you are excited to take and post photos of our special day, we have amazing photographers and videographers that will capture everything. We would ask that you respect our wishes for an unplugged ceremony, and leave your phones off until afterwards. As far as the reception goes, take all the pictures you want and feel free to post them with our wedding hashtag #gettinbriggywithit! We will have a photo booth area at the reception for everyone to take fun pictures!

What can I do in between the ceremony & reception?
Answer
We know there will be a random block of time in between the ceremony and reception, while the wedding party gets pictures taken. Cocktail hour will begin at 4 pm at the Bark River hall, but you are more than welcome to go there earlier, find a seat, and hangout with some friends while you wait! Northern Sun Winery is also right down the road if you’d like to check that out and enjoy a glass of wine!
