Picture it... it was January 2012, Hayley had just got her first iphone and needed her friends phone numbers. She posted on her facebook and got a DM from Kevin, a boy she knew since High School but couldn't care less about him. He pestered her until she finally agreed to a little date to watch Beetlejuice on his tiny laptop, propped up on milk crates, with the bedroom door open, and his mom checking in every 30 mins. From the start, their story has been about showing up for each other. He cheered her on through the long days (and nights) of culinary school, and she was right there rooting for him during his tattooing apprenticeship. They’ve always been each other’s biggest supporters, whether it was late-night cooking classes or endless hours perfecting art. When it comes to adventures, he wasted no time pulling her out of her comfort zone. Her first camping trip, a side-by-side ride through the Salton Sea, “bucket list” moments off at Convict Lake - He made it happen. Their favorite getaway, though, is Solvang, where they love the wineries, the kitschy little shops, and the rolling, scenic landscape that always makes them feel at home. Of course, not every adventure has to be far from home. They’ve had hundreds of “dates” at skateparks, countless Disneyland days, and a tradition of Knott’s Berry Farm Christmas pictures. Add in their shared obsession with hunting down the best food wherever they go, and it’s safe to say their relationship has been fueled by equal parts thrills and snacks. Like any couple, they’ve had their ups and downs — but the truth is, no low has ever been strong enough to outweigh all the fun, love, and memories they’ve built together. And honestly, they’re still just trying to decide if they love each other more… or food more. THIRTEEN YEAR LATER... On a private vineyard, he got down on one knee and proposed as the sun set and coyotes howled nearby. So, at year Fourteen we hope to see all our dear friends and family celebrate our very long awaited marriage.
