We met senior year of high school in Mr.Wilkies math class. He loved to hang out at my desk and attempt to flirt DAILY. We ate lunch with each other almost every day weather it was a the local Chinese buffet or the mall food court. Rays favorite tag line was “ hey baby break up with your boyfriend and date me”. Years later and lots of instagram message pickup lines, I caved. He had a boat and it was summer time… So he picked me up and we headed to the river; and the rest is history.

I thought it was just a normal day on the river headed to meet our friends, suddenly he starts heading into the Mertle trees. My thoughts was how is he lost on the river…. As the boat is crushing the trees and I’m getting whip lash because the boat is leaning side to side. While also wondering why in the world are we lost. Ray finally stops the boat in a beautiful cleared area surrounded by trees. He goes on to tell me how this is his favorite spot on the river and then jumps on the front of the boat and ask me to grab sunscreen since he’s getting sunburnt. I tell him no I’m not getting down there’s probably snakes in the boat… while demanding he takes me to the water because it’s 100 degrees out. I then get down grab sunscreen and of course a nutrul because after that ride I needed a drink. As I turn around he is on one knee proposing, I have always dreamed of this moment although a little differently but I didn’t expect anything less than a very dramatic proposal. Like our relationship the best things also happens unexpectedly. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in NSB!
