Out of the blue Elijah messaged me with just a picture of him on duty. No "hey" or "whats up" just a picture. I left him on read for about 10 minutes, and I finally said to myself "screw it" and I sent a blank picture back of me studying. Three months later I was driving to pick him up at the airport, and we were going on our first date. Now, we are getting married. They say the love of your life comes out of nowhere, and when you least expect it but most certainly need it. Our love for sure followed that philosophy!
Elijah and I knew we would get married, and we always talked about it. I knew it would come soon just by the way we talked, and I had no idea he bought a ring...until I did. We were driving to PA and he kept getting calls and got a voicemail, so I asked if he wanted me to make sure it was not work. It was not work...it was Kessler diamonds. I knew then he had a ring and I played in my head what would happen next as my stomach sunk and my cheeks turned red. Little did I expect that a few months later as I was getting around for what I though was friend group pictures I would get a ring on my finger. During pictures Elijah wanted to do this uncomfortable prom pose, and I was just thinking WTF! As I took a step back I couldn't feel him, so I turned around and he is on his knee smiling ear to ear with a box in his hand. Overwhelmed I started crying, and it did not feel real. The world stopped and it was just us two in it. He asked me "do I even need to ask" and I said "YESSS!"
