Our Story

The Wedding Website of Sarah Murphy and Brien Twomey
It's been a long time coming... It all began in 2012, which is to say, a long time ago.

We met freshman year at TCU and spent the rest of college building an incredibly deep friendship. We attended each other's dances, participated in the same activities, spent long hours studying, walked each other to class, shared meals at the BLUU, traveled together on fall, winter, and spring breaks, stayed up way too late, never stopped talking, and, through it all, fell in love. It's hard to pinpoint exactly when that shift from friends to more happened, but there was a hand-holding moment in 2015 that Sarah definitely thought would lead to something, and she may have even mentioned that Brien was moving at a “glacial” pace.... ..................... 10 years later, Brien proposed!

Well - a lot more happened between then and now! We started dating in the final months of college. After graduation, we quickly transitioned into our long-distance relationship era: from a 45-minute train ride between Dallas and Fort Worth to a 600-mile flight between Love Field and DIA after Sarah had the brilliant idea to move to Colorado. Weekend trips turned into Brien realizing just how right Sarah was about this Colorado thing, so he made the move to join her in late 2019.

Since then, we’ve fallen in love with all the incredible activities Colorado has to offer. We’ve hiked, camped, skied, and explored our way across this beautiful state—and still haven’t seen it all! We’re so grateful to have such an amazing place to call home and a wonderful community of friends and family to share it with. Over the past few years, we’ve been able to travel more, going on unforgettable ski trips with friends, vacations with family, and bucket-list adventures to London, Portugal, Spain, Canada, and Croatia, to name a few!

We love our home in Wash Park, AKA the crown jewel of the Denver Parks system. You can almost always find us there—whether we’re running laps around the park, playing volleyball with friends, or taking Ollie, our golden retriever, for a walk. Wash Park took on an even deeper meaning in our lives when, one bright December morning during a walk with Ollie, Brien led Sarah off the path to propose! It was the perfect place to begin the next phase of our lives together.

We’re so excited to get married and can’t thank you all enough for your patience! See you in the mountains!
