Our Favorite Charleston Places

The Wedding Website of Brielle Smith and Galen Kreutzberger
Greetings from the Pineapple Fountain, part of the Waterfront Park in downtown Charleston! This well-known Charlestonian landmark was opened to the public in 1990. It represents hospitality, restoration, and hope as it was established the spring after the devastating Hurrican Hugo ravished the Lowcountry coast of South Carolina. If you decide to come early, stay late, or make a weekend trip of our wedding, here are some of our favorite places to visit!
Shem Creek Boardwalk & Marina

Shem Creek Boardwalk & Marina

Mount Pleasant, SC 29464

The spot of our first date, a paddleboarding adventure, and our engagement could not be more beautiful or more representative of the South Carolina Lowcountry!

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Magnolia Plantation and Gardens

Charleston, SC 29414

Not only is Magnolia Plantation and Gardens a gorgeous historical site, but it is also home to a very talkative peacock we love to try to find when we visit!

Isle of Palms Beach

Isle of Palms Beach

Isle of Palms, SC 29451

Out of all the beaches around, this is one of our favorites! Galen always enjoys searching for shark's teeth after a storm.

The Historic Charleston City Market

The Historic Charleston City Market

188 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401

Open 9:30a-5:00p daily (with a Night Market from 6:30p-10:30p on Fridays and Saturdays). Explore the many artisans and their goods at this historic open air market including handmade sweetgrass baskets!

Caw Caw Interpretive Center

Caw Caw Interpretive Center

5200 Savannah Highway, Ravenel, SC 29470

This hidden gem of a park is full of wildlife and the perfect place to spot some alligators, bald eagles, and other critters!

Fort Moultrie

Fort Moultrie

1214 Middle Street, Sullivan's Island, SC 29482

Take a tour of one of the forts that played a major role in winning the Revolutionary War. Fun Fact: Galen was promoted from First Lieutenant to Captain at Fort Moultrie!

Morris Island Lighthouse

Morris Island Lighthouse

1750 East Ashley Avenue, Folly Beach, SC 29439

This was the location of one of our very first dates! The lighthouse first started operating in 1876 and is off the coast of Folly Beach. There are some very large driftwood trees on the beach nearby which are perfect photography subjects!

For all the days along the way
