Midway through our first date, I got a text from one of my tenants about a mouse in her unit. Around the same time, Trevor realized he had left his wallet at home, which he originally thought was in his car. While he was looking for his wallet in his car, I started to wonder if he was coming back but after a few minutes he returned, apologizing about his wallet. I offered to cover the bill and joked that he could help me handle the mouse situation instead. Without hesitation, he said yes. Later that night, he spent over an hour helping and calming a very panicked tenant. In that moment, I knew this one was different. Looking back, I can see why God had me wait. After all the heartbreaks, He wasn’t just preparing Trevor for me but preparing me for Trevor. Through his patience, kindness, faith, and consistency, he has proven that feeling right every day since. With God at the center of our relationship, we know we are being guided, strengthened, and loved far beyond what we could ever do on our own.
