FAQs

The Wedding Website of Brie Subko and Jacob Rhemer
Trust us when we say WE KNOW that this is a lot of information. Imagine planning this! We have researched in depth about Big Sur and we have listed everything we can think of to create a stress free travel and stay in Big Sur for you. This website is going to update throughout the year so please check back often for more info. Do not hesitate to call or text me if your questions aren't answered. (772)519-3672 or Jacobs phone (561)602-7134. Just please don't wait until the day before or day of the wedding because we will be Unplugged from our phones completely. Again, we are very excited for everyone to be joining us in our new adventure as Mr. & Mrs. Rhemer!
Question

What do I mean by UNPLUGGED?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to respect our UNPLUGGED Ceremony. We are true believers in living in the moment and want this moment for us and you to be just that. We have hired an amazing photographer and videographer who will be doing her thing and capturing our Ceremony, first dance, and the reception. Feel free to snap pictures and videos any other time throughout the day/night. Again, You will not have service at the venue so just a heads up!

Question

Can I stay at another hotel/Airbnb that is not listed under accommodations?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. The reason we ask all guests to only choose from the accommodations listed is because we are required to shuttle all guests to and from the venue. If you decide to book your stay elsewhere, you cannot drive to a shuttle pickup location as each hotel in Big Sur has limited parking. To make things easier, we have included lodging options in a variety of price ranges.

Question

How will we get to the venue?

Answer

We are providing a mandatory shuttle for all guests. Please book your accommodations as soon as possible and email briesubko@aol.com with where you are staying. We will inform all guests of where and when their shuttle pickup time is as we get closer to the wedding.

Question

How long is the shuttle ride?

Answer

The main town of Big Sur is approximately 25 minutes from the venue. Expect a truly breathtaking drive on a narrow (and at times windy) road.

Question

How will we get back?

Answer

The shuttle will run at two different times to bring guests back to their hotels. First shuttle departs at 10:30 pm and the second shuttle departs at 11:30 pm from Wind & Sea.

Question

What if I miss the shuttle?

Answer

PLEASE don’t miss the shuttle! We mean this when we say, if you miss the shuttle, you WILL miss the event. As mentioned previously, all guests will be given plenty of notice beforehand of where and when their shuttle will be picking them up. And again... no cell reception = no calling to let us know you’re running late. You should also know that they are ZERO ride-sharing options, so don’t rely on Lyft or Uber. Just please, be on time.

Question

What is the attire for the Wedding?

Answer

We ask that all guests dress in cocktail attire. The weather can rapidly change in Big Sur, so I can not stress it enough to bring along a jacket as this will be an indoor/outdoor event. Also, the ground is very rocky at our venue and our reception will be on a deck. I highly recommend to the ladies to not wear stiletto type heels.

Question

What do I need to know about the Welcome party?

Answer

We rented out an awesome Seaview terrace for 4 hours to welcome all of you who traveled across the country for us. This is a come and go as you please event so nothing formal. The Sunset should be setting around 6:50 pm and you don't want to miss it! Enjoy the views, have a drink, eat some appetizers, and mingle! Bring some cash as there will be options of Local California Beer & Wine to choose from. The welcome party does not have a shuttle service but feel free to carpool!

Question

When you say no cell phone reception you mean...?

Answer

You will have NO cell reception. I am going to emphasize this THERE IS NO CELL RECEPTION. Big Sur is a place to be in nature. Go hiking, hang out on a beach, or relax by a creek; but don’t expect to be on your phone. We strongly urge you to familiarize yourself with the area ahead of time and print out or save your directions before you start your drive. You can find wifi at most hotels and restaurants in the area. Please ask me questions well in advanced (months and days before). The day before and the day of the wedding we will be off the grid COMPLETELY from our cell phones so you will not be able to reach us.

Question

What is the Weather like in Big Sur?

Answer

The fast-changing weather makes packing a bit challenging. Typically, it may be warmer in the day but can drop significantly at night.. and don’t forget about the wind, fog, and sometimes mist. We suggest you pack a variety of clothing, check the weather a few days before departing, and definitely bring a sweater or jacket for Wednesday & Thursday’s events!

Question

Have other questions we haven’t answered?

Answer

No worries! Feel free to email briesubko@aol.com with any other questions.
